BREEDING STALLIONS |

| Carentino
|
|
|
His Bomgaars offspring:
|
|
 |
Caretino is one of Germany's
top stallions, producing horses that excel in both the
dressage and jumper rings. From the latest (2001) WBFSH
rankings of top jumping sires, he is ranked #5 and is
the youngest, at 18 years old, in the top ten. With
more than 100 offspring, known for their astonishing
movement and jumping ability, in sport, Caretino has
18 approved sons and 114 daughters, of which 12 are
German State Premium. Recently Caretino was one of four
to be accredited as an approved KWPN stallion without
having been presented at the Stallion Show nor evaluated
on the constitutional requirements of the KWPN.
Caretino is by Caletto II, the most important son of
the Holsteiner breed mainstay, Cor de la Bryere. Caletto
II is said to embody the perfect traits of the Holsteins:
noble and expressive, long-bodied, correct conformation,
excellent gaits and exceptional jumping ability.
As a young stallion, Caretino won his 100-day test in
the Holsteiner Verband with the brilliant scores of
9.0 and 9.5 in jumping and 9.0 in general performance.
By 2001 12 of Caretino's offspring had competed at the
international level including AK Caridor Z (Jos Lansink),
Crocodile Dandy (Alison Firestone), Chandra (Sören
von Rönne), Toyzrus (Jill Henselwood) and Ballerina
124 (Marcus Merschformann). Most recently, his son Camirez
(Marcus Merschformann) won the 2001 Hamburg Derby, one
of the most demanding events in the international circuit.
In dressage Caretino has proven himself as well with
the approved sons Cheenook, Carpaccio and Cockney who
are considered some of the best movers ever to have
entered the sport. |

Concorde was himself
an international jumper with Jos Lansink. They won the
Grand Prix of Nordrhein-Westfalen at Aken and they were
Champion of the Netherlands in 1994, 2nd in the Grand
Prix of Amsterdam, 2nd Darmstadt, 2nd Lanaken, 2nd Helsinki
and 2nd Gothenburg. The last three years Concorde was
the sire with the most offspring at the World Breeding
Championships for young horses. The ‘preferent’
Concorde has proved himself to be an absolute top sire
of international sporthorses. His offspring Audi’s
Jikke, Kathja, Conquest II, Larino, Viktor and Isabella
proved themselves at the very top at Grand Prix level
(1.60 m.) and World Cup jumping. In the Grand Prix of
Rotterdam, 3 from the top 8 had Concorde to thank as
their sire. At the World Cup final at Las Vegas had
4 offspring in the finals! Concorde was the youngest
stallion ever to be awarded ‘preferent’,
due to his endless list of national and international
children.
Concorde comes from very strong jumping lines on both
sides. Sire of this stallion, is the impressive dominant
breeding stallion Voltaire, who via his sire Furioso
II and Gotthard is bred to perform. Voltaire is the
number 2 in the World Breeding Rankings for Showjumping
Sires in 1996. Voltaire through the performances of
his offspring stands very high in both the dressage
and jumping indexes. Due to his high ranking position,
Voltaire was given the ‘keur’ and ‘preferen’
predicates at a very early age.
Concorde's dam, Flyer, is by the legendary Marco Polo,
one of the most influential Dutch stallions in breeding
and jumping with representatives such as: Irco Polo,
Pybalia, Marius, Orpheus, Mr LA, Pierrot and Recruut.
Flyer is related to the international jumper Vivaldi,
which under Melanie Smith was speed horse of the Year
in 1980. Flyer produced at least 6 (inter)national jumpers.

Ramiro Z
|
|
|
His Bomgaars offspring:
|
|
 |
| |
G Ramiro Z has become
famous worldwide and is duly called the "Euro-stallion"
of his day. "Preferent" Ramiro descends from
the famous male lineage combination Raimond-Ramzes X
- Rittersporn XX. The anglo-arabian Ramzes represents
one of the basic bloodlines on which Holsteiner breeding
has been founded. Ramzes gave a new dimension to sport
horse breeding.
Ramiro's dam is Valine, who aquired international fame
as a showjumper by the name of Corrale under Lutz Gossing.
She was a daughter of the reputable thoroughbred Cottage
Son XX, who became famous through his son Consul, sire
of the influential progenitors Joost and Codex. Ramiro's
dam is from lineage 776,
one of the most valuable Holsteiner female bloodlines
going back to Achill and Edelbert.
In 1969 Ramiro was the absolute top stallion of his
performance year and was used not only for breeding
but also successfully developed a jumping career under
Fritz Ligges. He excelled in his puissance performances
(up to 2.20 m) as well as in competition where speed
was essential. Ramiro moved to Studbook Zangersheide
in 1979 and came to the Netherlands two years later.
On the basis of his breeding efforts that earned him
worldwide fame, he was declared Horse of the Year at
Jumping Amsterdam in 1992. Ramiro is still at the top
of the indexes in both jumping and dressage for many
breed organizations today even though he passed away
some years ago.
His progeny can be described with one word: sublime.
He supplied a large number of stallions approved in
the Netherlands and abroad as well as an impressive
series of fantastic sport horses. In the Netherlands
his sons Almiro, Armstrong, Bernstein, Dageraad, Damiro,
Elmero and Zeoliet have all achieved fame. His daughter,
the super-mare Ratina Z, is the dream of the showjumping
world, winning both gold and silver at the Barcelona
Olympics and the Volvo World Cup of 1993. His progeny
distinguish themselves in dressage as well. |

| Indoctro was Champion
of his stallion test in 1993, Champion of the stallion
competition, Dutch Champion of 4 yr old show jumpers,
the best 6 yr old at the Turnier der Sieger in Munster,
and won the qualifiers for the finals of the Bundeschampionat
and placed 6th in the World Championship for 6 yr olds.
In his first year of international jumping he placed
1st in Munster, 4th in Bremen, and 4th in Hamburg. Indoctro
already has more than 10 approved sons including Orame
and No Limit who were both Champions of their stallion
test. He has also produced Champion mares and foals
including: Operette-champion CK Groningen, Olympia-Dutch
Champion, Ocinthe- Fries. Champion 2 yr olds, and Noblesse-Champion
CK Flevoland. Indoctro's offspring excel in jumping
like: No Limit, Nassau, Nothing to loose, Nike, Orame
(winner of 140 stallion competition in 2003), VDL on
Line, VDL Orestus, Nifenia, Hertel Nero, Meatloaf (Dutch
reserve champion of 5 yr show jumpers now competing
internationally), VDL Martiago, and VDL Masserati (Champion
of North and South and Central America for 6 yr olds).
In the VSN finals for 2 yrs he had the most offspring
in jumping and in 1999 he had the Champion Orlando.

| Voltaire
|
|
|
His Bomgaars offspring:
|
|
 |
| |
Voltaire is the result
of crossing two outstanding bloodlines: Furioso II and
Gotthard. Furioso II produced 200 state premium mares
and at least 70 approved stallions of which several
are standing at stud in other continents. One can easily
say that Furioso II has influenced the breeding industry
worldwide. The full brother of Furioso II is the French
stallion Mexico. His son Le Mexico is a familiar name
in Dutch breeding and frequently appears in the pedigrees
of successful showjumpers. The dam's sire Gotthard is,
now more than fifteen years after his death, almost
a legend in German sports horse breeding. Gotthard's
strength is continued in his sons and grandsons. Vital
in Voltaire's pedigree is the connection in the third
generation to the thoroughbreds More Magic xx on one
side and on the other side Furioso xx.
As an 8 year old Voltaire jumped 1.50 m. courses with
a great deal of success. He showed his strength in international
jumping in 1988 in Calgary, Stockholm, Lanaken, Helsinki,
Wiesbaden and Wembley and in 1989 he brought his showjumping
career to a successful ending by winning the Grand Prix
of Berlin with Jos Lansink and 2nd in the Grand Prix
of Leeuwarden. Voltaire was the sire with the most offspring
at the Olympic Games of Atlanta in 1996. Moreover the
worldfamous Voltaire is second on the World Breeding
Ranking of Showjumping Sires. Voltaire has over 50 approved
sons.
Many of his offspring jump at Grand Prix level, i.e.
Finesse, Altaire, Kahlua, Play it Again, Helios, Electro,
Kannan, Especial etc. etc. Foltaire, ridden by Günther
Seidel is a famous offspring of Voltaire in the international
dressage ring. Voltaire has been awarded ‘Huntersire
of the Year 2001, 2002 and 2003’ in the USA! At
the moment Voltaire is one of the top sires in the KWPN
Jumping Index with 151 points. |
